The Importance of Gutters
Water can do more damage to your roof and home than just about anything. One of the important things standing between your home and water damage are your gutters. When properly functioning, they catch water off of your roof and divert it away from your home and keep your shingles in good shape, adding years of longevity to your roof.
Leaky or Clogged Gutters
When your gutters are letting water escape through leaks your home or business is more likely to experience interior leaks and other types of water damage. They may be on the top of your home, but gutters have a lot to do with the bottom. When water isn’t being funneled through along the roof and into the downspouts, it collects along the foundation of your home and can eventually cause foundation and basement issues.
Gutters that are full of leaves and debris can also lead to water damage and foundation issues as well as put un-needed stress on your roof. When the leaves and debris soak up the water, the weight in your gutters will cause them to sag and eventually fail.
